Curriculum and Academic Programmes

Baken Akademie College follows a mastery-based curriculum aimed at equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed for higher education and the workplace. We offer a unique educational path that moves beyond the traditional CAPS curriculum, focusing instead on internationally respected programmes such as the American Advanced High School Diploma and the British BTEC qualifications.

Academic Offerings:

American Advanced High School Diploma: A flexible, credit-based system that ensures students move at a minimum pace, with the option to accelerate the academic programme. This ensures learners master each subject thoroughly before advancing.
The system includes built-in accommodations where applicable, with text-to-speech and spell-check options.
The vast majority of our students maintain a minimum average of 80% for the American Advanced High School Diploma.
British BTEC Qualifications: Practical, career-focused programmes in fields such as Art & Design, Information Technology, and Business Studies, with plans to expand into Sports and Construction. These qualifications are recognised globally and open doors to higher education and career opportunities.
All our qualifications are Matric equivalent and at NQF Level 4 and offer tertiary education acceptance into all local and international institutions.

Bible Studies: As a core subject, Bible Studies replaces the traditional Life Orientation curriculum. These modules are completed by Grade 10 and help learners build resilience, manage stress, and develop strong interpersonal skills, preparing them for the challenges of adulthood.
